The kids over at YakFace.com intercepted a sample of what the packaging for Hasbro's line of Star Wars figures aqnd toys will look like in 2013. Moving on from the Darth Maul packaging that helped celebrate the release of Episode I in 3D, Hasbro is turning to the light side of the Force and using Yoda himself as the focus for all upcoming packaging. It what could be seen as a promotional image for 2013's release of Episode II in 3D, Yoda is in full-on action mode, lightsaber drawn, leaping forward towards the viewer. The shades of blue that appear on this year's packaging will be replaced with the color green.

The cool kids over at From Bricks to Bothans have done it again. While watching a video on an unrelated Lego product, they happened to notice an often rumored Lego model of R2-D2 standing off to the side minding his own business. While they report the item number for this is 10225, there is no mention of when this might actually be "officially" announced or when we could expect it on store shelves.

With San Diego Comic Con and Star Wars Celebration VI only months away, here's hoping that all the juicy details regarding this awesome-looking set will be revealed sooner rather than later.

Our full coverage of the 2012 New York Toy Fair is now live. Thanks to each and every one of you for your patience. We had a blast covering the show and hope you enjoy the photos and reports.

If you've been following us on Twitter and Facebook the last 30 or so hours, you'll know our LIVE coverage of all the Star Wars happenings at this year's Toy Fair in New York City has been non stop. From yesterday's sneak peek with Hasbro to this morning's breakfast with Lego, we've been among the first to bring you all the breaking news. Among the announcements we've had first here are Hasbro's announcement of this year's Fans Choice figure and their 2012 San Diego Comic Con exclusives as well as some of the brand new Star Wars Lego sets that will be hitting store shelves later this year.

On February 8th, 2012 Uncle Milton the maker of educational Star Wars products announced they will be at Toy Fair 2012 and will have a variety of new items in their 2012 line-up. Such items include a double bladed Darth Maul room light, a Force Push/Pull glove, and high bounce Anti-Gravity balls. In specially marked Star Wars Vintage line figures and vehicles there is an entry form for what might very well be Hasbro's coolest contest to date. The "Darth Maul Giveaway" gives one lucky fan the opportunity to win a life-sized Darth Maul statue autographed by George Lucas!

This one-of-a-kind prize is being offered to help celebrate the release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D this Friday, February 10th. The sweepstakes, which runs until 8/31/12 also offers 100 Force FX Lightsabers as runner up prizes.

All the details for this promotion, including how to enter without making a purchase, can be found on the official Hasbro website.

No, this is not an early April Fool's Day joke (or is it?). Microsoft and LucasArts announced it will launch both the motion-controlled action game Kinect Star Wars and a limited edition bundle featuring a Star Wars themed Xbox 360 on April 3. The bundle includes an R2-D2-themed Xbox 360 complete with custom sounds and a 320 GB hard drive, a C-3PO-themed wireless controller and white Kinect sensor. MSRP for the whole package is set at $449.99.

The Kinect Star Wars game will feature a Jedi Destiny campaign where players wield lightsabers and use Force powers with the help of the hands-free Kinect motion controls. The game also features podracing, space battles, landspeeders and other vehicles direct from the Star Wars saga. There's also a feature where players can hone their lightsaber skills in the heat of battle.

Transportation, reservations and press passes have been secured and in under two weeks, the staff here at CollectorsCantina.com will be attending our first Toy Fair at the Javits Center in New York. Along with checking out the newest offerings from Hasbro and Lego, we'll be walking the floor of the con on the lookout for any and all new Star Wars merchandise that may have slipped in under the radar.

So keep your web browser locked on us beginning Saturday, February 11 for all the news and reviews at Toy Fair 2012 as it happens.

An update on the "Leia's Journey for Baby Leah" project from our friends at the Sarlacc Pit Podcast:

Postcards for Baby Leah

Since this "Journey" is for Baby "Princess" Leah our guest of honor, we are adding postcards for Princess Leah to this Leia's Journey for Baby Leah.

Anyone who would like to send in a postcard to Princess Leah, just pick up a postcard in your local area. Write a personal message to Princess Leah on the postcard, date it and mail it to us at the "Sarlacc Pit" podcast.

We will compile these postcards and put them together in a book that will be given to Leah along with the Leia 12" action figure. That way as Leah is growing up she can read all the messages from all of us who care about her.
