First Look at Gentle Giant’s SDCC Exclusive Boba Fett Prototype Mini Bust
Via StarWars.com:
The Empire Strikes Back has often been hailed by critics and fans as the best film in the Star Wars saga. What was it… The improved visual effects? A richer and more complex storyline? Who are we kidding, we know the real reason. It had Boba Fett!
The wily bounty hunter became an instant fan favorite with his innovations, ruthlessness, and sleek body armor. Here’s something that might surprise you: That armor used to be white. During a screen test in 1978, an early prototype of Fett can be seen wearing all-white armor over an off-white jump suit. This was rumored to be a “Super Stormtrooper” design that saw the character as having an elite, special forces background — better trained and equipped than regular stormtroopers.
You can check out “Super Fett” at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con convention in the form of an awesome new mini bust created by Gentle Giant. Featuring polished white armor, a unique blaster, and minute details that set him apart from the regular bounty hunter version, this Boba Fett Prototype Mini Bust is a collectible that celebrates a key part of Star Wars history and is a must-have for the Fett faithful.
If you are not planning on attending San Diego Comic-Con 2015 but still wish to purchase the Boba Fett Prototype Mini Bust, fear not: the Gentle Giant Premier Guild, an exclusive collectors club, has you covered. By joining, not only will you be able to purchase the Boba Fett Prototype Mini Bust, you’ll also receive 10 percent off all regular release items, access to past PGM items, access to future exclusives, and more. For that big a bounty, Boba himself would probably join.
