Holden Racing Team Reveals Star Wars Racer
The force will be with the Holden Racing Team at the Bathurst 1000 V8 Supercar race.
HRT’s VF Commodore race car piloted by Garth Tander and Warren Luff will be decked out in one-off Star Wars livery to promote the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the seventh instalment of the popular film franchise.
It is the first part of a sponsorship tie-up between the new film and the car company.
The #2 car now has the images of new villain Kylo Ren and his red lightsaber in one side and a First Order Stormtrooper on the other. The car also features red and black dark side themed bodywork.
“Star Wars is the greatest movie franchise in history, so I know there will be a lot of interest around our livery from not only our loyal Holden V8 fans, but Star Wars fans globally,” Tander said.
“HRT is the most successful team ever at Mt Panorama and to carry the iconic film franchise on the car is extra incentive to add another Bathurst win to my tally. This is one battle I want the dark side to win.”
Holden’s sponsorship and motorsport manager, Simon McNamara said that this is the first of two announcements about Holden’s new partnership with Walt Disney to promote the new Stars Wars movie.
HRT will also offer special collaboration merchandise to celebrate the new partnership.
