During the weekend of November 1st through the 3rd the Rhode Island Comic Con along with thousands for fans invaded the Dunkin Donuts Center, Rhode Island Convention, and Omni Providence Hotel. Fans of all genres were able to meet fellow fans as well as celebrities from all the different genres.
Star Wars fans were able to interact with the local costuming groups of the New England Garrison of the 501st and Alderaan Base of the Rebel Legion. The groups had a display featuring a bunker for Endor and the Death Star doors. They were collecting donations all weekend for the Peter Mayhew Foundation.

If you grew up in the 80’s and watched National Lampoon’s Vacation you could have met Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo, Anthony Michael Hall, and Dana Barron. If you were into the Incredible Hulk from the 80’s you could have met the man himself Lou Ferrigno. There were many more guests from other popular such as Stranger Things, Save by the Bell, Gotham, Mayans, etc lots of great people to meet.

If buying merch is your thing there were a lot of vendors on hand selling comics, collectibles, shirts, prints to get signed by the celebrities, and many more. If you left this show empty handed you didn’t look too hard definitely something for everyone at this show.
This show was bitter sweet for many fans because it was the last convention for Sesame Street alum Caroll Spinney. Caroll was the voice of Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, and many more characters from 1969 -2018. Mr Spinney was there to greet fans of all ages. Many fans showed their appreciation for his work over the yrs. Our friends at Feature Presentation had their Oscar the Grouch themed set right next to Mr. Spinney’s booth where you could get a picture with Oscar and they entertaining the crowds as they waited for their chance to meet Mr Spinney.
There were definitely a lot to see and do at this years event. Make sure to check out the rest of our coverage here.
