Professor Turns Observatory Into R2-D2
Via medium.com:
A long time ago (September 2018) in a galaxy far, far away (Germany), one man decided to provide their observatory some extra pizzazz by painting it to look like R2-D2 from Star Wars.
Hubert Zitt, with a small team, transformed the Zweibrück Observatory of the Natural Science Association into a massive R2-D2.
The sci-fi professor finished the project in September 2018, aided by their father-in-law Horst Helle, the master painter Klaus Ruffing and many helping students and contains caught the eyes of Star conflicts followers every-where. The most known lover regarding the re-design ended up being Star Wars star Mark Hamill who tweeted about it, “R2-D2 Observatory Transformed Germans Into monster Nerds.”
While he shows electrotechnology, Dr. Hubert Zitt can also be a huge sci-fi lover. Dr. Zitt has a doctorate from Saarland University in methods concept of electrotechnology (which sounds pretty impressive if I say-so myself) and is now a tenured teacher within University of systems, Kaiserslautern, Zweibrücken.
Having painted my home and research with my spouse, we can’t even begin to imagine just how much preparation must enter this to get the right measurements and proportions. In addition would have agonized over matching the colors exactly to the level that We never would have gotten it done.
In the autumn of 2008, Dr. Zitt became a regular lecturer at the The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas training ‘The Physics of Star Trek.’
