Could Walmart have a new exclusive sticker?

While running errands this morning I stopped by a Walmart here in Central MA. I stopped by the toy section to check to see if there was anything new for Star Wars, Marvel, Lionel Racing’s NASCAR Authentics, and Spin Master’s Monster Jam and saw something that I have never seen before. On the two packs of 1:87 scale die casts from Lionel Racing Authentics there was a sticker stating “If this product is found for sale at a location other than Walmart, please call 1-800-Walmart.”

Now this is a first for me and so far this is the only line the stickers were on. This location is also the only place I have seen it. This line from Lionel Racing is only with Walmart from what I have seen. There are mystery bags available at Target currently for this scale. There are no “Only at Walmart” stickers on this product unlike exclusives from say Funko or Spin Master.

Will this be normal for exclusives with no exclusive tag? Not sure. Is this an attempt to curb scalping? Seems that way.  Will it work? Not sure.
