Lionel annouces details of the Star Wars line

Our friends at Lionel Trains are celebrating 125 yrs. As part of this year’s line-ups they will have a license for the Galaxy Far Far Away Star Wars.

Here is the full catalog that was revealed. Star Wars starts at page 116 and goes to page 125 for the main line. Then there is a Halloween themed boxcar pg 168 and two Christmas themed boxcars one for the Mandalorian and one Original SW characters pg 180.

The collection starts with two O scale train sets one for the Empire and one for the Rebels these are RS-3 LionChief frieght set with Bluetooth controls The Empire one will have the Emperial Logo and the Rebel one will have the Rebel logo. Each set will retail for $499.99. Each set will come with an RS3 locomotive, two box cars, and one liquid filled car. There will be eight curved pieces of O36 track and two 10″ FasTrack straight pieces.

This is followed up with pages for character themed box cars. For the Rebels there will be a Luke Skywalker one and R2-D2/C-3PO one. For the Empire there will be a Stormtroopers one and Darth Vader one. These cars will retail for $109.99.

There will be cars featuring some of the iconic light saber battles such as Obi-wan vs Darth Vader, Qui-Gonn Jinn vs Darth Maul, and Rey vs Kylo Ren. For these cars the light sabers will illuminate. These cars will retail for $149.99.

There will be three scene cars first is an X-wing vs T.I.E. Fighter Aquarium car, Chasing Driods gondola with R2-D2, C-3PO, and Jawa, and an Stormtroopers chasing gondola. The aquarium car will retail for $139.99 and the gondolas will retail for $129.99.

The seasonal box cars are for Halloween and Christmas. The Halloween car will feature Darth Vader, a Stormtrooper, a T.I.E. Figther pilot, and a Death Star. Say Have a Ghoul – actic Halloween. The characters and Ghoul-actic will glow in the dark. This will retail for $109.99. For Christmas there will be two box cars one Mandalorian themed and one original triology themed. The Mandalorian themed is “Joy to the Galaxy” with Grogu, Mandalorian, IG-11, the Razor Crest, etc. This will retail for $99.99. The Christmas themed one is “Merry Force Be With You” and features Chewbacca and Yoda on one side and Darth Vader building snow men and Stormtroopers on the other. This will also retail for $99.99.

The cars all require O27 curves.

This line looks very promising and should be a nice addition for SW fans and model railroad fans.
