In a Bloomberg Businessweek interview published online this morning, George Lucas let slip the nugget of information that every Star Wars fan has been waiting to hear since it was announced that there would be a new trilogy of films. Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford are signed, sealed and delivered for Episode VII. Well, sort of.



MTV.com is reporting that the in-production video game Star Wars 1313 has been put on hold. No official announcement has been made on the games future yet, but the early reports do not sound promising for the legion of Star Wars gamers who have been anticipating the game since it was announced last year. Rumors are circulating the the game has been put on the backburner by Disney, who wants to funnel all creative resources and attention towards the newly announced trilogy of movies set to hit screen starting with the J.J. Abrams-directed Episode VII in 2015.



 

Today Hasbro announced a couple new figure packs that will be available starting in May 2013 at Walt Disney World Hollywood Studios and then available at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Restort shortly after. Each set will include three figures STAR WARS® Star Tours™:  Search for the Rebel Spy will include Signal Droid, Seeker Droid, Imperial Sky Trooper and STAR WARS® Star Tours™:  Sector 2 Security which will include G2 Droid, C-3PO, RX Droid.



This past Sunday at the 2013 Toy Fair in New York City, Yomega unveiled their new line of Star Wars Yo-Yos. Below is the official press release:

Lego Toy Fair New Products

Today Sunday Feb 10th Lego held their Media Event at Toy Fair during the event they announced all their new products including what is new for Star Wars. The press release can be found on our Toy Fair coverage page. We will post images when they become available.



On Saturday Feb 9th, 2013 Hasbro and Hunter PR held their annual Fan Media event. Due to the winter storm Nemo we were unable to get our TaunTauns past the 1st marker and had to stay in MA. After the event Hunter PR did upload a number of images and product description sheets for media outlets to download and make available for their fans. Although we will not be in New York this weekend to cover Toy Fair in person due to the Blizzard, that will not stop us from bringing you some of the news and information that will be there. First up is the Announcement that Yomega will be releasing a line of Star Wars-themed products. For the past couple of days the internet had been a-buzz with runors of a possible series of Star Wars films that would stand separately from the soom-to-be 9 film saga. Yesterday both Disney and Lucasfilm made it official. Two spinoff films were announced (the subjects of those films has yet to be revealed) with Lawrence Kazdan writing one of them and Simon Kinberg penning the other. 

While no release date has been announced yet, these films are expected to be released sometime after Episode VII hits theaters in 2015.



Yesterday as most of us know usatoday.com ran the story of Hasbro's new "Black Series" 6" figure line, well today Hasbro via it 'sPR group Hunter PR have officially announced the line. The Black Series will consist of basic 3.75" and 6" figures for the price point of $19.99 for the new 6" line and be available in the Fall of 2013. 



According to an article on usatoday.com Hasbro is announcing a new Star Wars 6" line called the Black Series. These figures will have the price point of $19.99 and should be available in mid-August per the article. The initial wave of 4 will include Luke Skywalker in X-wing Pilot outfit, R2-D2, Darth Maul, and an Imperial Sandtrooper.
