For the past couple of days the internet had been a-buzz with runors of a possible series of Star Wars films that would stand separately from the soom-to-be 9 film saga. Yesterday both Disney and Lucasfilm made it official. Two spinoff films were announced (the subjects of those films has yet to be revealed) with Lawrence Kazdan writing one of them and Simon Kinberg penning the other. 

While no release date has been announced yet, these films are expected to be released sometime after Episode VII hits theaters in 2015.
