No, this is not an early April Fool's Day joke (or is it?). Microsoft and LucasArts announced it will launch both the motion-controlled action game Kinect Star Wars and a limited edition bundle featuring a Star Wars themed Xbox 360 on April 3. The bundle includes an R2-D2-themed Xbox 360 complete with custom sounds and a 320 GB hard drive, a C-3PO-themed wireless controller and white Kinect sensor. MSRP for the whole package is set at $449.99.
The Kinect Star Wars game will feature a Jedi Destiny campaign where players wield lightsabers and use Force powers with the help of the hands-free Kinect motion controls. The game also features podracing, space battles, landspeeders and other vehicles direct from the Star Wars saga. There's also a feature where players can hone their lightsaber skills in the heat of battle.
