The Force is Strong with the Muppets

For years there has been a connection between Jim Henson’s “Muppets” and Star Wars. From Mark Hamill appearing on “The Muppet Show” back in 1980 to Muppet puppeteer Frank Oz bringing Jedi Master Yoda to life on the movie screen. Beginning this Fall, the Muppets and Star Wars will once again cross paths, this time in the form of action figures which will be sold inside all Disney parks. These articulated figures feature such iconic Muppets as Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy dressed as the most memorable characters from the Star Wars universe. These figures, which will be sold two per pack will also include Fozzie the Bear as Chewbacca, Sam the Eagle as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Gonzo as Darth Vader. While these nifty collectibles will not be available for sale until Fall 2011, you can catch a sneak preview of them on display during Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
