MAY THE 4TH EVENT AT THE WINGS OVER THE ROCKIES & AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM

On May 4, 2013 the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum in Denver, CO will host the annual Star Wars Day at the Hangar also dubbed as May the 4th be with you Star Wars Event. The event is from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. This event will feature numerous Star Wars acitivies and a chance to see a 3/4 scale X-wing that was present at the first Star Wars Celebration in 1999 for Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Meance held at the same museum where it sits today and is maintained by the X-wing Project. If you are in the area make sure to check out the celebration it looks to be a great day filled with Star Wars fun. Planned events: We’ve got all day to celebrate that galaxy far, far away, and it’s setting up to be another rip-roaring time inside the Hangar with your favorite X-Wing. News and Details will be posted as they become available, so stay tuned! Announcements: – Open Cockpit on the X-Wing! Blackburn Photography will be on-hand to take the pictures and they will be uploaded to the internet for downloading after the event. With some wonderful help from ModTickets, this year we are offering ADVANCE admission tickets. As always, Members of Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum get in free, but you will need to reserve a members ticket in order to be in the lottery drawing for a seat in the X-Wing! 500 Boarding Passes will be awarded with 270 on May the Fourth, and 230 on May 11th’s Open Cockpit Demo Day (and will include free admission for that day). https://www.modtickets.com/Mod/Tickets/Tickets.aspx?id=338 – Foamsabers & Star Wars Crafts for the kids! Kids 12 and under will each get 1 foamsaber from the museum & a chance to learn & take home some fun Star Wars Crafts. – Star Wars Fan Film Festival in the Harrison Ford Welcome Theater. – Comic Book Classroom/Denver Comic Con will be returning to bring art and literacy through the wonderful world of comics to the kids. – Featured Photo-Ops will be your chance to take your picture with a themed group of characters, and each hour will have a different cast: 9AM – Rebel Pilots 10AM – Scum & Villainy 11AM – Clone Wars 12PM – Heroes of the Rebellion 1PM – Bounty Hunters Guild 2PM – Lords of the Empire Each session is 50 minutes long, with a 10 minute transition. – Blast-A-Trooper will be coming to Wings with our partners in The 501st Mountain Garrison. Take your turn at the Nerf guns and show those Stormtroopers who is the best shot in the galaxy. – Green Screen Adventures gives you the chance to put yourself into the Star Wars adventure of your choosing! Made possible with help from the Red Rocks Community College. – Food Trucks will be on-hand to provide you with delicious treats, making this a great way to spend the day with your family, lost in the Star Wars Universe. – Droid Factory! Some of your favorite droids are coming to the Hangar to delight everyone, including a “life-sized” Destroyer Droid for photo-ops.
