Disney and Lucasfilm Unveil Star Wars Journeys
Yesterday Disney and Lucasfilm launched a new mobile app to help introduce the Star Wars saga to a younger generation of fans. Star Wars Journeys is an app (only available on the Apple platform for now) that will make each of the six (as of now) movies truly interactive for the first time ever.
Starting with Episode I: The Phantom Menace fans can immerse themselves in a “Story” mode will allow readers to explore the plot of the film through custom-designed interactive artwork. In addition to the story mode, readers can also check out a database of characters, vehicles, weapons and locations featured in the film. The app even features a film-specific game, in the case of Episode I, a pod race game. Players can earn upgrades and unlock bonus game content by exploring the other areas of the app.
Additional apps for the remaining films (Episodes II, III, IV, V, VI) will be released over the next year and a half (at the price of $6.99 each) leading up to the release of Episode VII in December of 2015. For more information and to download the app, visit the the Apple iTunes App Store.
