Saesee Tiin Actor Khan Bonfils Passes Away at 42
Via New York Daily News:
Star Wars actor Khan Bonfils, 42, died after collapsing at a theater rehearsal in London Tuesday.
Bonfils, of “Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace,” lost consciousness during a rehearsal for Dante’s Inferno, scheduled to open this week, the Telegraph reported.
Show director Rocky Rodrigues Jr. performed CPR before paramedics arrived, Craft Theatre company spokesman Chris Hislop said. Bonfils could not be resuscitated.
The cause of death has not been released.
Bonfils played Jedi master Saesee Tiin in the 1999 Star Wars movie and appeared in “Batman Begins,” “Lara Croft Tomb Raider” and James Bond film “Skyfall.”
The production was scheduled to open at the Rag Factory in east London Thursday. The show will go on, though, as another actor will fill Bonfils’ ensemble role, hopefully in time to open Saturday, Hislop said.
