X-Wing Model Launched Into Space
Two amateur astronomers with Project Helium Tears have launched a replica of an X-Wing fighter into space… with the help of high-altitude balloons. The iconic Star Wars fighter was outfitted with Go-Pro cameras to help record the adventure and the video is absolutely stunning.
Of course the wannabe Rebel pilots used the event to send a personal message out to J.J. Abrams, the director of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. That message? “Hey J.J. We just put an X-Wing in Space! Can we come to the Force Awakens première?”
