Spring 2019 Northeast Comic Con Collectibles Extravaganza
This past weekend we spent a day at the Northeast Comic Con and Collectibles Extravaganza, a local comic book and collectibles convention that takes place twice a year at the Boxborough (MA) Regency Hotel and Convention Center.
The small pool of celebrity guest included: Gilbert Gottfried, Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley of “Harry Potter”), Ann Robinson (Sylvia in the original “The War of the Worlds”), Nicholas Brendon (Xander on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), Gigi Edgley (Chiana on “Farscape”), Mark Goddard (Major Don West on “Lost in Space”) among others.
In addition to the celebrity guests, the show also featured a selection of national and local comic book artist including: Joe St. Pierre (“Spider-Man”), Keith Champagne (DC Comics, “Stranger Things”), Joe Carmagna (“The Guardians of the Galaxy”), Guy Gilchrist (“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) and Will Murray (“Squirrel Girl” co-creator)
Also featured at the show was approximately 150 vendors selling everything from the latest Pop! figures from Funko to some of the rarest vintage Star Wars figures in the area.
The three day show will return to the area this Fall during Black Friday weekend (November 29 – December 1). More information on the show can be found on its official web site.
